After the successful launch of Walt Disney Cartoon Classics, a second series was launched, known as Cartoon Classics: Limited Gold Edition, with two sets released in 1984 and 1985, respectively. This series features some of the more critically-acclaimed Disney shorts. Like the first series, the second series had six or seven cartoons, with few exceptions, which are listed below.
This series features a historical introduction documentary to each video. The first series has the documentary about Walt Disney's early start and the first original Mickey Mouse. The second series have, on each video, different documentaries focusing on histories of the specific characters/themes of the video in question.
