Megavolt is one of the five main villains in the television series Darkwing Duck.
History[]
Megavolt is a rat who was a high school nerd who gained the power to control electricity when one of his experiments was sabotaged by a bully. He is a former high school classmate of Drake Mallard (Darkwing Duck), and his oldest villain, since the two first battled at St. Canard High's senior prom. Megavolt is quite psychotic and uses his control over electricity as his main weapon. His costume consists of his original jumpsuit, gloves, boots and safety goggles that he first wore at the high school prom, as well as a giant battery worn on his back to keep his power flowing on the go and a headpiece that resembles a big plug. Megavolt was the show's creators' favorite villain and therefore the most recurring. He also appeared as an antagonist the the Darkwing Duck comic book series. In the comic story "The Duck Knight Returns", he is forced to briefly retire from super-villainy and get an office job (where he works next to Drake); he finds that he prefers prison to working at Quackwerks. In the episode "The Quiverwing Quack", a partially obscured picture of him is shown on a Public Enemies list, revealing that he is Public Enemy No. 3. He is a possible spoof of the Spider-Man villain Electro.
